Linda Frost-Clark's Potrait

Linda Frost-Clark

Growing up, I was the kid who would string a bedspread on my mother’s clothesline and get the neighborhood kids involved in a talent show or to act out a play.  I have been passionate about art and music since I can remember and at age seven learned to sew and that has been a passion ever since.  In college I was involved with the drama department and as well as performing in college productions also designed and made costumes.

After marriage and becoming a mother, many of these interest went dormant except for the music, art and sewing.  I have been a church attendee all my life and gave my heart to the Lord as a teenager at a church camp.  My relationship with the Lord has always been paramount in my life.  About 20 years ago, a neighbor invited me to attend a Women’s Bible Study and it changed my life.  I experienced a deeper relationship with the Lord, really began to understand the Word and my greatest consuming passion became studying to understand the scriptures.  In 1994 I became a widow and with all the challenges I faced drew even closer to the Lord.  Out of this grew a Women’s Bible Study that began at my church and then moved to my home where it met for several years.  To help the ladies (as well as myself better understand the scriptures) I began writing stories of selected women in the Bible the way they might tell their own story.

My method was to read and meditate on the scriptures, visualize these great events, to get “under their skin” and try to imagine what these women might have seen and thought.  I began reading my writings to a few friend and they encouraged me.  One thing led to another and I found myself performing them in first person singular (in costumes that I designed and made).  It was well received and the word spread.  I began to be invited to groups in other churches until it grew to what it is today.

“Voices” In Their Words, became the words to identify the ministry and its purpose is to entertain, enlighten, encourage and inspire.  By assuming their persona and telling their story in what might have been their own words, of selected Women of the Bible, it is my greatest joy that many have said it makes the scriptures come alive for them.
